Ok, I have a '99 XLS and it needs new rotors. I have everything off on the front except for those two bolts on the caliper bracket (cradle?). I can not seem to get those bolts off. I have sprayed the heck out of it with some break free stuff, but it is not working. Any ideas? I am trying with both a 15mm socket and pounding the ratchet w/ hammer and also the same pouding w/ a 6 pt. box-end wrench. I have no compressor or impact tools and can not get any today. I am back on duty in the morning and my wifes car needs to get fixed so she has a car. Thanks for any advice on this one.

I was also wondering if I am going to run into this same problem on the rear rotors as well? Those are going to be changed as soon as I get the fronts done. Well, I'm burnin' daylight. Thanks.

Those bolts are loctited in,its gonna take more than a hammer and a ratchet.Try a breaker bar if ya got 1 or about an 18" pipe over the ratchet and try again.

Thanks

I finally got one off and you are right they have that orange stuff on the threads. I will try to find a pipe or go get a breaker bar. Thanks again.

Bill you are a genius

I just bought the breaker bar and a deeper 6pt socket and it took very little effort to get the bolts off. Wow, learn something new everyday. Thanks Bill.

Your welcome.Glad I could help ya.

Yeah those bolts are tight for a reason. Whatever you do - put them back just as tight and possibly put loc-tite on it if you can.
