ive hot this 92 explorer with a bit of a lift, about 7 inches, and was thinking about some bigger tires, i just bought some used superswampers and they are 35x15.5, will they work on there or is that over kill, im thinking that they might be to wide. and if anyone knows where to buy cheap rims let me know, cuz i have to have 16.5x12 inch for these tires. well thanks.

lesschwab sells good rims for 65 a rim. 35" tires should be fine with a 7" lift.

You have already bought the tires, and now you want to know if they will fit ?

Isn't this like putting the "Cart before the Horse" ???

35's should fit with a 7 in. lift, though the front fender might need some trimming depending on how much travel the front suspension has.

If they're 35x15.5" tires, DON'T get 16.5" rims. Get the RIGHT size rims for the tires.

Dude. Honestly?

35x15.5x16.5 Tires 35 is the height, 15.5 is the width, 16.5 is the rim size. There is no such thing as a 15.5 rim

16.5 rims are hard to find in 5 on 4.5 size, unless you get hummer rims and recenter them with custom inserts your kinda screwed. Honestly, get rid of those tires and get 35x12.5x15 tires. 15.5 is very very wide, and if your state has any kind of fender law you will defiantly need fiberglass fenders.

What about rockcrawler steel wheels do they make 16.5 in wheels in that bolt pattern. Also i think he was asking if the tires are too wide to fit on the explor..... wait a minute this thread is almost two months old!!

Well, I had assumed he left out the width and the 15.5 was the rim size. Oh well. Too much time spent warning people not to put 16" tires on 16.5" rims and vice versa.

Black steels are pretty cheap. Cragar soft 8s in particular. Can find 'em on Jegs or Summit.
