Quick BL Help! Tonight please

Doesnt the kit require you to drill out the bottom body mount flange to 1/2" and then use a normal bolt with a nut? If thats the case, just hold the nut down with a vice grip while you torque on the other side.

Great idea!!! The instructions only said to do that for the front two mounts, but that should work for all of them. Maybe tomorrow- tonight's all-nighter will be doing the homework I was supposed to be doing this weekend.

So now that the body lift is done, what can I do about getting the grill guard to line up properly? Also, how did everyone else go about spacing out the bumpers? I've got a long piece of steel that I'll cut four 3" pieces from, drill holes in each and then use that along with two of the spacers that came with the 853 to make the "C-shaped" spacers for the front bumper, but I'm still confused about the rear one. Suggestions?

So how do I get the body mounts loose? The front ones came right out, but the middle ones don't want to budge....help anyone?

What? i thought this was finished.

Nope, nothing's ever easy the first time I try it...I got the front two bolts in tightly, and the back two in tightly, but the middle six got to a point where they were almost in, but they would just spin- they wouldn't tighten or loosen. I can get them out now with an impact wrench, but I'm struggling to widen the holes (1/2" bit like the front two) because I can't get the body mounts off. They look like they're one piece and they won't come off. Any ideas?

dude, the nut bolt is not 1 piece... im with izwack... you should be done already... i think you need to step away from the truck, and go buy some logic... seriously... there is no otehr way anyone can help you here besides actually doing it themselves, you arent listening to a word anyone is saying... its not that hard!!!!!

Whoa! Calm down, killer ;) I'm not sure what you mean by "nut bolt," I'm talking about the rubber and metal cylinder thing that the spacer sits on top of and the bolt screws into. I was trying to bore out the hole on that just like I did with the front two, except I cannot find a way to remove the cylinder thing (body mount). It doesn't want to move and it seems like it's one piece going through the metal bracket.

im not worried, you are the one tripping out about it.... i would have had this done a long time ago.... you are overcomplicating things, and need to relax..

ok, but is there anyway to get those mounts off so that I can drill through them? The front most middle one came loose, but the top portion would not separate from the bottom portion. I was able to drill through that one eventually, but I can barely get to the ones behind the back seat to drill. Anyone?

take it out.... shesh, its not like it was formed on the vehicle as one piece... it all comes out, grow some and start working

the one I'm working on behind the back seat is almost completely frozen. When I hit it with a hammer it will move just barely side to side, but it will not turn, and it will not lift off of the bracket at all. I even have a flathead style chisel that I've been trying to hammer between the mount and the bracket; still nothing. You do have a point though about why it should come out

lift the body off the frame..... start jacking up the body, it isnt going to come out with the body weight on it

There's just over 3" between the top of the mount and the body, because I took out the spacer to try and remove the body mount. It's not the weight of the truck. Now I've tried hitting it from every angle I can get the hammer in there, I've used the chisel some more, I've lined up my crowbar on it and hammered that into it. Still absolutely nothing

stick a fork in me, i am done

i can no longer try to help you, you are beyond help

last ditch attempt

Ok, that makes it easier to explain: I'm working on the one in position 4; parts 20 and 21 will not move. As far as I can tell, the only thing holding them in place could be rust, but they will not separate and fall off. Thanks again.
