You should be able to - the gear ratio does not change or determine the ring gear diameter. Rather, in order to change ratio, it is the pinion gear that changes in diameter. This is why your rear axle is called a Ford "8.8" - which is the ring gear diameter.

Rodger that. i was concerned due to the deeper depth of the tooth not really thinkin of the diameter. I just wanted a 2nd opinion to make me feel at ease. Ive got enough money sunk into the truck (who doesnt) and i wanted to make sure the truck wouldnt sit awaiting arrival of an over priced aftermarket cover

Something does need to be trimmed but it doesn't concern the cover. I wanna say it has something to do with getting the clearance to get the pin out.
Yup.. for 4.56s and up ratios, either a notched cross pin needs to be used, or the ring gear needs to be notched.

The ring gear has already been notched. As long as ill clear the cover ill be happy. Ill pick up a higher capacity cover soon enough i just wanted to make sure the stockers would be safe. I appreciate the input fellas

I thought the Solid/Rockcrusher covers wouldn't clear a 5.13 gear.. At least I "think" I remember reading that.

Yeah there was that one thread where the RockCrusher cover would not clear the front's ring gear - which is strange cauz that means the ring gear did change diameter.
