What? it wont rethread?

Clutch Slave? Or Wheel cylinder?

Usually in either case it's just grime on the threads.

its the slave cylinder but its not threaded its the quick disconnect fitting male(hose) to female(slave). its supposed to push in but it just wont go.

my dad got it together but it came out on my way home from work. i had to lay in the snow and this time it just slid right in.

FORD's better idea.......strikes again.

Aloha, Marj

The auto parts stores sell a special tool for putting the quick disconnect fitting together, or taking it apart. But two screwdrivers work. The tool is just a u-shaped end on a small metal bar. The disconnect fitting is similar to that on air hoses, with a sleeve that must be pushed in to release ballbearings, before the tube down the center goes in. Harder to take apart, than to put together, because you are pushing in on the outer sleeve while pulling out on the main line.
