Since the temperature outside dropped my doors have been squeaking like crazy. If I spray in some WD-40 to get rid of the squeaking, will it loosen the friction on the door so that it swings all the way open with minimal effort? (I'm thinking of potential parking lot incidents)

Nope.
The friction reduction will be very miminmal.

wouldn't use WD-40 though... it's not a heavy lubricant.

use the wd to clean the old grease off the door hinges, wipe what you can with a rag and then apply so white lithium grease. it will last much longer...

I think that has something to do with the door hinge mechanism and not the grease. So removing some of the grease off won't make it swing any easier.
