I've just replaced my oil to synthetic and put on an oil filter that came with my Torque Monster headers. It's a WIX premium filter and is about twice as deep as the one I pulled off, an STP filter. The gasket was the same size and it screwed on just fine. I just want to make sure it'll be fine.

you should be all right the bigger the filter the more filter material in side

MORE is NOT always better.....LONGER is NOT always better......consider......

The new oil filter is longer than the old one......it is positioned closer to the new headers......heat transfer.

The shorter oil filter may be the, "right thing to do."

There have been cautions issued over this issue.........you should look and decide.

Aloha, Mark

On my 97 the oil filter is located just behind the fan housing. It's not really near the headers.

WIX is a really good filter though.

If you run into problems, consider an oil filter relocation kit.

Good luck ....
