My 2018 XLT has the base SYNC APIM (the 4.3" screen, all mechanical buttons). Sirius XM worked fine when I first got the vehicle and I never resubscribed. Right now there's a free trial Sirius XM and all of my other vehicles with Sirius/XM work fine during the trial period, except for this Explorer.
I called Sirius and gave them my radio ESN, and they said this radio is not eligible for the free listening. I don't even get Channel 1 preview. It just says unsubscribed receiver. The Sirius operator said I need to pay $21.95 a month for it to work.
Anyone else know if there's such a radio that is not eligible to receive anything unless I pay? My 09 Cobalt that sits in the garage most of the year still gets the free trial listening, same as my 2017 Fusion Sport. When the free listening is over, those radios just allow me to switch to Channel 1. Not this Explorer.
