'91 EB
My '91 EB has an aftermarket stereo, amp and subwoofer installed, apparently, by an idiot. The radio will play without keys in ignition if I turn on the headlights. Leads me to believe its got constant power. I'm also experiencing fuel pump relay problems (2 blown in the last two weeks) and incorrect sensor readings, which I'm convinced are being caused by this electrical screw up. The battery also looked like it was about to blow up (bulging, leaking) before I replaced it. I would appreciate some basic advice on the wiring specs and how I can fix this problem. Thanks in advance!

Hey man,
Does the CD player also play normally when the car is running? Or do the lights have to be on everytime, to make it play?

Sounds like your power wire got spliced into your headlight power wire?
Do you know if, when the CD player was installed, they used a CD player harness? It can be bought at any car audio shop, best buy, curcuit city, and prob. even wal-mart.

Can you post a little more about when the CD player works? Does the amp and sub work? Reply back with a little more info and I can help you better.

Thanks,
Kendal

Dollars to donuts

I bet that the idiot who installed the Cd player hooked the main power lead ( the red wire) Do the stock dimmer wire. haha

Pull out the cd player and look if the red wire is hooked to the orange or green wire then thats the problem.

Also i think that the idiot might have chopped off the stock wire blocks and "hard wired" it in there

Let me know is the case, if it is ill pull mine out cause thats how mine is, damn world is full of idiots
