Ford sucks.. seriously, I have an '03 sport xlt, with 16k miles on it. The driver side spring is sagging 3/4" already! What a defective POS. Im going in tomorrow to see if they will replace it under the factory waranty  I just think that that is unacceptable on such a new vehicle.

Take your minivan back to Ford. :D

isnt that a torsion bar?
You thnk Ford built the torsion bar? Nope.

It happens to all manufaturers, not Ford specific.
Hell I had a skyjacker spring bow after 2 miles.
Parts place didnt believe me, told me I installed it wrong, so I drive it to them and 5 min later had a new coil in my hands.

If your T bar is sagging 3/4" lower then the other side, they can twist it back up.
Lots of things will effect ride height, if the truck is not sitting level, if the gas tank is full, if the tire pressure is off, how it was parked, even if on level ground, etc.

he stated sport xlt which would make it a 4 door with coils wouldnt it? no torsion bars.

It's a sport, meaning it's a leaf spring. Swap the springs if Ford won't replace it.

He just said drivers side, not front or rear :)

Well, it just seems to me he'd say torsion bar and not spring if it was the case. I dunno....

understood hombre :)

no coils and no extra 2 doors. Totally wrong. Just a regular sport but with Torsion bars and a solid rear -- and an XLT interior package.

Exactly.. this is the culprit. 2dr sport, XLT package.

And if it was a torsion bar I would have said that.. they are adjusted nearly the same. Infact the front left is up a tad more than the right, but the sagging spring is causing it to tilt. Thats not all.. the steering wheel is "peeling". So I have to ention that also, and have it replaced.

Did you get a warranty?

Steering wheel too, wow, thats crazy. But i agree with 410. can't blame Ford directly as it may have been a subcontracted part. The machine shop i work in makes parts for Boeing and General motors defense, but you won't find our name on any of em, so if it slipped past Quality control at one of their contractors establishments, it puts the blame directly on Ford. Shame really.
I hope they do take care of your situation tho, and wish you the best of luck with the whole ordeal. ;)

Jake, is it monoleaf??

You can have my stock 4door spring packs but you have to come here to get them. I'll help you put them on ;)

Here is the wheel. Its going to be covered under factory warranty, because its less than 3yrs and 36k miles. I also have an extended warranty up to 75.. or 100k. Cant quite recall.

Na, the new ones came with leaf packs. Thanks though, once the black beast is repaired I would love to come up though :)

OK. We'll be stopping in SLC on our way to Moab in May to drop my wife at her brother's place, we could've delivered.

The steering wheel is a Ford problem on many of the Ford lines 02-03. I think they just got a batch of defective steering wheels from where they get them. No biggie in my book. You have a warranty it's covered.
