Is there a rear abs fuse for 91x? I want to disconnect it. I tried to pull the relays but I only have 3, 2 of them the car wont start and 1 the a/c wont work.

There should be; unfortunately I don't have the earlier fuse/power distribution box or 91/92 service manual. Check your owners manual if you have one. Searching the forum may yield a fuse box diagram.

In my experience with the 4WABS system, once any part (relay, fuse, etc) doesn't pass the key on system check, the whole system is deactivated. RABS would function the same I'd think.

so is it safe to say that if my abs warning light is on, the abs is not working? Guess ill try to lock them up and see.

Yes, and when you pull the fuse the light turns on. Ours was first fixed via electrical tape.. then I took the bulb out :). We haven't had RABS (our 1992 didn't have 4 wheel abs) for over 200k miles..

BTW.. a thread with the Diagram for 1st gen interior fuse box is here. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=253702

Sweeetness! I pulled the amp fuse above the abs fuse to make sure the diagram was for mine and the radio didnt have sound. Then I pulled the abs fuse.
I went to autozone last week and they couldnt even pull up this diagram for me,dumb *****.
Now I have the piece of mind that the abs is disconnected and will never come on again. Now I can pull the light bulb.
Dude, Maniak is a know it all on this forum (I mean that in a good way bro).

Maniak is correct. I believe it is fuse #10 under the dash and it is also in use with your flasher/turn signals. Just discovered this late last week.

hmmm? I checked my blinkers and they still work. We have the same year so I wonder why yours dont work when you pull the fuse?

Awww.. shucks... :)

I'm glad my brain filled with useless info could help.. On top of that my Google fu (and EF-fu) is usually pretty good..

Of course, haveing > 380k miles on our first gen means I've dealt with lots of issues too..

BTW.. The ABS fuse is different than the brake/signal fuse BUT I never checked to see if losing a brake fuse would turn off the ABS.

Exploripedia Brown?

There are good uses for useless knowledge. I swear this happened. I had trouble getting to sleep last night. So, I started thinking out the ball joint replacement in my mind. I made it to the ABS sensor and... zzzzzzzzzzz

I don't count sheep...I count bead welds lol
Update: My abs light AND my parking brake light were permanently on but when I pulled the abs light bulb out and started my car the e brake light was off. Even if I put the e brake on. Is this a coincidence? I'd rather have it not work than on all time anyways.
