I have a '92x and the rear antilock light comes on in the dash. Spuratically the light will go out and the rear antilock will work. Lately the light has been off and everything working fine, then I changed the battery now the light is on again. I checked the connections they were clean and tight. Does anyone have any suggestions?:(

seriously, dont even worry about it. the abs in first gens sucks so if it dies, oh well....especially living in the midwest, whenever there is snow, i remove my abs fuse because i can stop quicker without it.

When was the last time you had the system flushed??? If it's been a while, it could be that there is too much water in the brake fluid (brake fluid is hygroscopic) , causing the fluid density to change, which fools the sensor into thinking there is low fluid pressure, which in turn kicks on the abs light. I had this happen to my old '92. The abs light would pop up and disappear at random, and the computer would show "low fluid pressure" when the codes were run. Flushed the system and refilled with new fluid, and the problem went away. It took a couple of days after the system flush for the light to stay out because the sensor is on a dead end brakeline, and it took that long for the new fluid to mix in with the old left in there.

A flush and refill costs less than $30 from Monroe, and it's a good idea anyways. Brake fluid does become contaminated over time.

thanks I'll have to give that a try.:)
