Rear End Fluid Capacity

Does anyone know how much gear oil the rear end takes on a 2001 SOHC Explorer with a 4.10? The manual says 3+ if you convert the pints/liters to quarts. I thought this was a little high. I want to get a good number before I drain the fluid and replace it with Amsoil 75W140 (stuff is pricey)!

the rear end will take right about 3.5 bottle of 32OZ they usually come in 32oz bottles, the front takes like 1.5 i believe

5.5 pints equals roughly 2.5 quarts.
