I have an 02 explorer xlt. The rear tires were recently changed since they wore faster than the front for some reason and we purchased used tires with tread similar to the front. There was a very slight clicking noise from the rear but if you could've seen the tires you would understand why we thought that was the culprit. After changing the tires the noise seemed to disappear but now in the last week it's back.......with a vengance!!! Now it is a very loud clicking noise that happens when it wants but almost constantly. I have found a few posts like mine but I'm not sure which fix would suit us. From what I undertad it could either be the CV Joint or the hub assembly. We changed the back breaks hoping that it was the e break mechaism but no luck still the noise continued. Since the hub and CV joints are over $100 each I would much rather first try the one that is most likely the culprit. Any input would be great! Is there a way to tell if either part is broken this way I can rull out the other???:
