Rear hatch on 2001 Ford explorer broken

Hey guys, how's it going? I'd like to ask if anyone has experience working with a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 2 door. Today, I went to go open the rear hatch on my car and when I pulled the handle, there was no resistance and the hatch refused to open. The glass plate window still opens just fine, but the hatch refuses to open. Does anyone know how to remedy this situation?

open it up, sounds liek the rod on the inside uncliped from the lever arm
