I have a 1995 explorer fourd door, four wheel drive. I am replacing the back shocks with Gabriel Hi-Jacker air shocks but unfortunately I can't remove the bolts holding the shock in place. Does anyone have any tricks for removing the bolts at the top and bottom of the shock? I even tried an impact wrench and the bottom ones wouldn't budge. Any help is appreciated.

Soak them with some PB Blaster and give it a few minutes. Mine came off fairly easy, also if you haven't already, remove the spare tire.

Did you have any trouble getting the top bolts off? Are there any tricks to getting them off. They looked pretty rough as well.

I will definitely go get some PB Blaster.

Thanks for the hlep.

i don't think i did, i'm pretty sure i tackled that one first that way the shock couldn't twist. I believe I used a wrench there too.
