I SOA'd my 97 XLT and reused the original mounting plates for the shocks by putting them up on top of the leafs. Now I've seen people removing their swaybars and mounting the shocks there. Anyone know if I can use the factory shocks this way? Also I've heard it's possible to use shocks from F-250's...does anyone know if these or any other trucks have the same mounting tab/bracket that explorers have? Thanks for the help everyone.

I guess I'll reply to my own post

I ended up mounting the rear shocks to the top bolt of each sway bar mounting place. I used the factory shocks, and they work great. Because of the SOA, they have almost an identical travel distance to when the were stock so the ride is very smooth. I will post pics and maybe even a walk through when I can.
