Has anyone out there done a rear spring-over-axle (SOA) swap? I'm thinking of doing that for mine. How much lift does that give the rear end? I'm thinking I'll do the SOA, and then just buy front springs, shocks, and TTB dropbracket lift components to match the rear.

Yeah, I just realized after I posted that I should've searched it first. So some superlift 5.5" front lift springs would work well, then.

Hey, does anyone make a front coilover conversion for the X1 Explorer? Namely one that requires little fabrication?

Your gonna need more than that.. If you just put in springs your caster and camber are gonna be way outta wack and you can't get camber bushings to fix that much of a difference.. You will need at least axle pivot drop brackets and Radium arm drop brackets. If you put on longer radius arms you "might" be able to get away with longer radius arms instead of using drop brackets to lower the rear of the radium arm.

hmmm...yeah, that was what i was afraid of. I really don't know much about lifting TTB-equipped vehicles. Come to think of it, I don't know much about TTB in general other than it's basically just an axle with a hinge in it. Is there a detailed diagram anywhere of an Explorer/Ranger's front suspension assembly?

Oh wow! That not only clears things up a bit, but will help me when I decide to regear the front end. Thanks!
