Hi everyone, I drive a 2015 FPIU, 170k+ miles. A year ago, I replaced its leaking gas tank, but now I’m hearing an annoying clicking sound coming from the rear passenger side. The video below shows the sound.
The dealer replaced the rear toe link due to a recall, but they mentioned that there’s still noise coming from the sway bar (thats all they said). I watched troubleshooting videos and they suggested replacing the rear sway bar link, but after spending the whole afternoon doing that, only to find out the original sway bar link was good and the noise still persists.
Interestingly, the noise in the videos only occurs when the car is turning or driving down a driveway, but my noise is always there as long as I drive faster than 40mph, except when it’s raining, so thats why I think this might be related to lubrication.
Is there something wrong with the bushing on the passenger side? And how can I check it? I can’t move anything by hand, but I did lubricate a bit with WD40, and the noise seems a little quieter, but not significantly. I also checked the graph of the sway bar (BB5Z-5A772-A) and it seems like the bushing comes with the bar, not sold separately. Does that mean I need a new sway bar?
