Need to replace the rear transmission seal. How much fluid will I loose when I pull the seal? Have a New Ford OEM seal in hand

Park on a hill so the fluid goes into the front of the transmission let it set
Change the seal you will loose like half a quart

Fluid will always drip out when you remove the driveshaft. Are you going to use ramps? The fluid will be tilted back into the tailhousing. Maybe you could ask a mechanic with a lift to replace it since the lift will keep the vehicle level. Another option is to remove the fluid from the transmission by disconnecting a cooler line, then drain it into a container.

Thanks Fellows. Mission accomplished. Minimum fluid lose after raising the rear end.

also the slip yoke on the driveshaft should be cleaned and lubed with some vaseline or atf before you install the shaft through the new seal
The new seal should never see dry metal......

Sounds like you got it!!
