Isn't this too slim a profit margin (figuring 350 in parts and 50 for shipping, 50 for core) for a rebuilt tranny?

Parts cost more than $350. Shipping is more than $50. Their core charge is $125 in addition to the advertised price. You have to ship your core with the torque converter to them. This means that you will have to purchase a shipping container in addition to the shipping fee. I once purchased a remanufactured transmission from Ford many years ago (I think about 15 years ago), and back then I paid $1,500.

Didnt see that 125. Still, I would have thought they are working with a slim profit margin (especially if they work in paying the tech to rebuild it). Im in the preliminary stages of a rebuild myself (thanks glacier).
