Recommend a good set of off road/beach tires

I can say I ran Michelin LTX Defenders in 265/60/18 on my Utility... for 3 days.... Handling was mushy as hell and the truck just didnt track worth a damn, plus for the same suspension as the sport, hard braking or bumps during a turn caused rubbing. Went down to 245/60/18 Michelin Latitude Tour (not HP) and things are muuuuuch better now. Sand wasnt bad, got some extra height over the 245/50 Eagle RSAs, handling is way better than the taller LTX, quieter as well, and the tires fit on the spare in the back. Wish I could have stayed with the LTX Defenders in the smaller size, but they were on national backorder.

As we look forward to the summer at the beach (especially with the blizzard I'm dealing with), if you want to get around, remember to air down....

BFG AT TA/KO2 work very well for me

I have a 2013 XLT that came with 18" wheels.

I ended up going with BF Goodrich AT TA/KO2 tires (LT245/65 R17) on Konig Control matte black wheels. The final dimensions are almost identical to the 18 inch tires so everything stayed the same.

I've received lots of compliments on this setup. I've driven through snow, ice, and mud and these tires performed extremely well without airing down. I can only imagine how well they'd do if I aired them down too.

gsyoungblood, that combo of the BFGs and the black wheels looks great!

Now see, there ya go. That's what I'm talkin' about. :D That's the set up I want on my '15 although my choice for tires are the Goodyear's only because I have so many years experience with them. Good looks and function. Great look, gsyoungblood! :salute:
