remote lock and key pad not working

hey guys im new to the forum but have been lurking for about a month now.
it seems like as soon as i fix one thing another breaks. i just put hids on the truck and now my remote lock and key pad dont work. ive been reading and searching all day and getting no where. the radio still works. the power locks still work from the inside of the car, just not remotely any more. i think unplugging and plugging the battery in so much today i might have popped a fuse or worse fried something. i read something about a 'rap module' did i fry that?
does any one no where to start, to start diagnosing? thanks guys.

p.s. when i push the key pad it doesnt illuminate.

i have this problem too but one one of the fuses in the power distribution box keeps poping so i think it is a ground issue. just cant find diagram of body wiring for a 1998 explorer xlt.
