Looks good Chris. I'm not fond of the billet fog bezels though. What other mods do you have planned?

umm ill probley get an exhaust im going to drop it whenever i get some extra money maybe if the wife lets me ill get some rims to put on it other then that mods will come as i go lol

i finally motivated myself to remove the roof rack today...thanks to you guys and the pics i knew exactlly where to start...for some reason the 6 pieces that pop off the rack to expose the screws came off real easy for me...i didnt even break a tab...maybe i got real lucky...took about 15-20 mins and i was done...i decided to screw the bolts back in and tackle the painting part on the weekend....i really like it....dont think im going to be putting it back on...

How cold was it? I think trying to take plastic pieces off when it is 25 degrees is just asking for breakage.

I use my rack a fair amount but want to take it off to repaint it. I think I'll wait till summer.

it was cold...about 25 degrees....i think it depends on how u take it off...i used a flat head screwdriver to pry them off...

hey..didn't get a chance to do it..had some problems and had to put my truck mods on hold. But i will take pics during the process

not8taxi- u need to post pics of ur headlights..retro-fitted projectors i see?!?!
BTW i'm in suffolk county, maybe in the summer you could come to our explorer meets we have

i used a trim removal tool but i guess it didnt help lol

On my 05, I didn't have to take off the covers or screws in the middle. It think the rack is a bit different on 05s. A bit boxier or thicker it seems. Anyway, once you get the front & rear off, I just moved the whole unit either forward or back (can't remember which) and it slipped off of the screws in the middle. Hope this helps or that you guys can picture it.

im going to redo the lights when i get some motivation from the cold weather outside...when i do ill post some pics....as for the 05 rack...probably same rack as the 06 07? ...

That looks awesome Chris...I saw last night ppl talking about rmoving the rack and wasn't sure how it would look. I've been inspired...will take some pics when I get them off of my 05.

its fun getting inspired lol cant wait to see some more pics

well the weather is finally starting to warm up a bit in chicago so i tackled this project. without those pictures of it disassembled i wouldnt have been able to do it. thanks.

Anyone know the size of Torx bit required to take off the racks? (I believe I remember hearing it was a torx bit)

EDIT: nevermind, I forgot I had a whole set of them. Taking the racks off didn't take as long as I thought they would :D

i know that you already found out the answer, but for anyone else wondering, it is a T25.

Need a cap

I need a front passenger side cap for the roof rack, if you want to sell them let me know.
