removing leaf spring

I have a 99 X which has in the front a 2" TT and 3" Body... the rear SOA... My back end is sitting about 2 inches higher in the rear and i want to have the rear squat down just a little. I was wondering if i removed the lower leaf, which is the smallest one, have any effect on the over all suspension? or does anyone have any warning about doing this? Thanks

I would look for other options. Removing leaves will make the truck handle much different. You may want to look at new perches that are maybe lower or change your.shackles. messing with the springs like that just doesn't seem like a good idea for a daily driven truck unless your sure it will continue to react the same way.
