Removing road marking compound...

Summer is finally setting in here, in Alberta, and I did some serious washing yesterday, will be claying the truck this weekend, so have a question for you guys:

The drivers door has little bits of yellow compound stuck to it, it is the stuff that the roads are marked with (solid yellow dividing the oncoming traffic), I know that this is the stuff because I had some on my 86 Chevy Celebrity (killer car - 300 000 and still alive), but never even bothered to clean it off. Now, I want to take it off before claying, what would you recommend to use in order to get it off?

That is exactly what the clay is for. Its will remove all the overspray, sap, or other nasties you may have on your truck. Clay, Clay, away!!!!

dam i should have looked harder for clay. I ended up using some car bug and tar remover, to get these tiny orange/red dots off my white paint. It worked well for the most part, but took forever

Really the clay works great for this. Pulls them right off, makes it smooth as glass.

Mineral spirits will remove road paint also. It will not affect your paint because automotive paint is different than road paint. It will strip all the wax off but that's the worst it will do. My mother-in-law drove her explorer across a set of recently painted yellow lines and had the whole rocker panel yellow. Not just spots, solid color. an hour with a bottle of mineral spirits cleaned it up perfectly.
