Removing Swaybar OK or not??

can i remove the front swaybar on my 97 explorer to get a bit more articulation.... are there any probs with this..... will i notice any difference in driving on the road cheers

You can disconnect the front when going offroad, but you definately want it connected when you're onroad. After you've done it a few times, it only takes 5 minutes to disconnect or reconnect it.
 






Well, the obvious is that the truck will be less resistant to sway and tilting on corners. If you do a TT up front, this will help make up for the lost anti-roll abilities of the sway bar, but I would think the heavy front end with the big iron 4.0 will be more unstable on mountain roads with the sway bar off... Read GJarret's post b/c I know he's not running either of his sway bars.. personally, I would advise against it, fab up some disconnects or something like that b/c a lifted SUV is more prone to roll-over and then adding no sway bars is a recipe for disaster.
 






You can remove it and drive around if you wish. However, the ride is VERY different and expect to change the way you drive to make up for the increased body roll.
 






An adjustable shock (Rancho 9000X) up front would really help you out in this situation.
