So i've done this before by removing my interior, I just found my front output shaft is leaking - which means I have to remove it again.

I'd really rather not tear apart my interior again too.

Can those top two bolts that hold the transfer case by accessed with some special tools, like curved wrenches? Or am I wasting my time?

I always just use a wratchet wrench, im not really sure why everyone has so much trouble with them, and I have done it on my back in the driveway and in the shop on the lift, its awkward and frustrating but i found if i just wrap my arms around it and use one hand to guide and one on the wrench it gets done pretty quick

I usually just lock two combo wrenches together because I don't have the curved ones.

Yes. I think the shorter ones work better.

Any particular brand you'd recommend?

I didn't try locking combo wrenches together but I tried just about everything else and couldn't get to them - including a ridiculously long chain of extensions and swivels.

I did cut a cheap one (Harbor Freight) when I had to deal with a very short space.

Thanks for the suggestions, hopefully this will save me some time (but only one more time, since i'm getting tired of taking this thing down)

there is another post where he removes the center console to remove the transfer case WTF?
if you have the right tools and put it up on a lift you don't have to remove center console...LOL

the tools I use to get to those pesky bolts was a 13mm ratcheting combo wrench and a 3/8 ratchet stubby version. tools shown below
there is no info from borg warner or anyone else except for this forum on rebuilding these transfer cases but to be honest they don't show how to properly remove the bearings, I ended up breaking my rear casing due to bad info here on the forum.

Even though I have those tools, removal of center console was simple compared to tracking down a lift. WTF was your point?
