Hi All -

I replaced my spark plugs (2015 Explorer, 3.5 L V6) and PCV valve yesterday, and when I was replacing the intake, one of the bolts in the middle snapped. I'm going to replace it later on this week, but the thought I currently have is whether or not to replace all but the center bolt. All of them (some worse than others) have corrosion on them. I seriously wonder if it makes sense to replace all of the captured bolts when I have the intake off again. Thoughts?

Thanks!

I would replace them all.

Also, I dealt with snapping a bolt a few years back and there are different part numbers if you buy them singly or as a set, keep this in mind when searching dealer inventory online.

Lastly, when replacing spark plugs, consider also replacing the air plenum gasket since you have the upper off. Might also be a good time to spray down your throttle body with some throttle body cleaner from both sides(gently).

Thanks Scott - I replaced the air plenum gasket when I did the plugs. Same with the PCV valve. I will look at the throttle body cleaner. Thanks for the advice (all of it)!
