I have a 2003 XLT 4wd, I also have a broken wheel stud on the drivers side rear hub. My quick question was is there enough room behind the hub to replace the broken wheel stud without having to remove the hub...? I was just hoping I could take the rotor/caliper off.. Knock the broken stud out and replace.

Any comments appreciated!

I'm not sure on the 2002-2005, but I know on several other vehicles I've worked on, you just have to turn the hub to the right angle as there will be some room behind it, but not the entire way around. I typically leave a lugnot on it for ease of banging.

you might have clearance problem, looks for a quarter size knockout near the bottom of the rear brake dust cover. Similar to what electrical boxes have. That will allow you to pass the stud through the back side of the dust shield.

Haven't had a chance to go look yet again, thanks guys though. Does anyone else know for sure?
