Hi Guys!

Local garage failed my state emissions inspection because the diagnostic connector on my 2001 Ford Explorer is broken. So I have two questions.

1. Where is this thing located on my truck?

2. Can I replace it myself?

I'm pretty good with tools, handguns and driving my Explorer in high heels.

Assuming they're referring to the OBDII connector (I can't think of any other diagnostic connector?) it's under the dash, roughly below the steering column. Shine a flashlight in or feel around and you'll find it. The connector should look like this:

You could probably replace it yourself with a new connector or one out of a junkyard if you're ambitious and don't mind soldering in a replacement.

High heels, I dig it! :salute:

1) take handgun and point at the old OBD2 connector
2) pull trigger
3) crimp on new OBD2 connector from donor vehicle.
4) fin.
