I just changed the batteries in my keyless transmitter for a 1996 Ford Ranger pickup. I only have the one transmitter and I need to reset it to work. How do you do it? Anyone?
This worked on my 97. Turn the key on and then off 5 times in a row and leave in the on position. Push the button on the keyless remote. Turn off and back on the locks should cycle. Remote should be set.
I have replaced I don't know how many batteries in transmitters and never once had to reprogram the vehicle. That makes no sense at all. Sure your battery is good in your transmitter? You aren't changing frequencies by changing the battery.
