I have an 2002 Explorer Sport... with the 5 speed manual. Bought it new so I know most things about it that I need to know. Except the fact that the few times I have missed a gear while, oh, driving spiritedly... that tach needle will swing WAY the crap past 6k!! Still running strong and getting 20mpg at 75mph+ so, no harm done.
Doesn't seem to have a limiter. I would hope that it did but I am at a loss.

Anybody know?

"driving spiritedly" is this the new polite way to say driving like a Rice boy? haha

Or whooping up on a riceboy... whichever. ;)

As far as i know and have discovered, there is none on mine either, also a 5 speed.

I've got an 05 XLT 4.0, how can I get my revs up above 3k? Do I have to do something to the limiter?

I doubt the manuals have a limited. However, for automatics there are limitations set which can be fixed by a chip via BamaChips

What kind of chip(s)? Where can I get them? How much am I looking at? Thanks

I'm not getting any prices on the chips...
