but my question is do i need to sand anything, or do i jsut drill a hole in one of the pinch welds under there and attach the ground. Should a spray a touch of spray paint or something under there to protect the bare metal inside the drill hole, or is that not necessary.

If its not painted or covered with some kind of protectant and is in fact bare metal, it will rust anyway. That's why I said to use that stuff that Nappa has. As long as no one can see it. Go ahead and try it with-out sanding or anything and see what happens. If it works fine if not sand and clean or try another spot.

Ok I went out and took some pics.

Mine are monted on the frame. The wires arn't pretty but it works.

Driver.

I used the body ground as a gound for the lights. This way only 1 wire goes into the cab, and piggybacks in to a wire going to the rear rock light.

Passenger.

The wires from this light goes over to the drivers one over the the trans.

Hope this helps

awesome thanks, did you just drill all the way through both sides of the frame?

i was thinking of mounting mine (much smaller, but same bulb) on that little ridge thingy on the bottom of the body (second pic right above the light, and then just drill another hole in that ridge and attach the ground to it. That seems like it would be alot easier to drill than the frame.

Drilled no holes! Hole was already in the frame from the factory ;)

how the crap did you get a nut inside your frame rail to the other end of the bolts...

and sorry, i HATE to ask you for another pic, but when you get a chance can i see a picture of where you grounded your lights? if you dont want to, thats cool i can figure something out

I thought you mite ask, so I already had a picture ready.

In the circle you can see a factory ground wire (silver cable) going up to the body. I just tagged on to that bolt.

as far as the nut on the bolt, just stick your hand up there. It's all about feeling

ah, ok...that makes it easier. Thanks a ton, i will try this out in the morning and if i run into trouble, you will be hearing from me ;)

lee man you got issues

ok on the mounting in factory holes. i find paper towels helps hold the nut in the wrench with a little touch on the bolt when screwin in.

and rock lights already?? get neons and put them on the body above the pinch weld tucked to the frame? (like the little 6 in. sticks)... then you can be getto fab at the same time!!!

wire a relay to them so you only have to hit one switch and turn them on.. or a series of relays if you went with a tons of lights. i know you man can help with the land cruiser.. if not stop over at bragg and i'll hook you up.

i finally got them up and running, and they arent THAT ghetto ;) they are alot smaller and not riced out at all, i like them and if i could figure out how to get pictures on here i would show you how i got them figured out. I figured i might as well put up some lights since i was bored and my bumper/sliders will be done soon and that way i can worry about those rather than lights.

I have two more in the front as well, but they only work with my headlights and i couldnt get a good picture that way. Also the pictures are a bit dark, i promise, they look better in person.

lol, wow this is old...ive gone and broken those already and had to replace them... ;)
