?s about sand driving

congrats on the trip and the 100,000 mile rollover. It won't be long before I get there either. I think I'm at 92,000. X's do great in sand. Here, if your not on the street, your on sand. I have almost gotten stuck a few times. She's gotten out every time though. The hitch and the step bars don't help for that. Of course, I'm also CRAZY and run around the loose sand on fully inflated 255's in a stock 98 and do donuts an powerslides. But like my name says, I'm CRAZY

Welcome to the 100k club

Welcome to the 100k club, I joined that many years ago in my 92 Explorer, I "retired" her at 312k, it is now my granddaughter's pride and joy... My 02 is young at 120k now.... I plan on keeping her a long time also!

Well guys I just got back last night, and the Explorer performed beautifully. I can't believe how well she just glided right over the sand. Most of the area to drive on was packed sand, but there were parts where this fine white sand would cover the road and it would get a bit squirrely. I just kept it at about 25 MPH and touched the throttle lightly through the sand. I never hit the brakes.

Cars were spinning out all over the place, and a few cars including a Benz got stuck. It felt good to fly through the sand in a one-wheel drive Explorer and watch pick-ups getting stuck :D And...I rolled over 100K on the trip. :redexp:
