im driving 15 hours in jan. to pull my car home.My 96 ex (v-6)XLT has 115,000 miles on it,and i have never towed anything with it before, is there anything i need to know before i tow it?my car will be on a trailer ? do i need to drive in 4wd while towing?is there going to be a big difference in gas mileage while towing?:bounce: :shoot:

Put a aux. tranny cooler and do a tranny filter and fluid change plus oil & filter. Make sure you hook up a hitch that mounts to the frame not the bumper.
 






No 4WD needed for towing (unless conditions dictate). And yes, mileage will go down.
 






It might be a good idea to use drive and not overdrive. Im not sure, maybe someone can verify this.
 






Going up and down hills/inclines, yes, just use drive. On straight flat roads, use O/D.
 






do i need to strap the car to the trailer or will it be ok?
 






Strap it on the trailer with some good high quality ratchet straps or chains. Two in the front and two in the rear should suffice.
