Got some minor work done today on our 1994 XLT we bought back in August, we had new plugs and shocks put on. They did the work for a reasonable price, however they are saying that the back end of the frame is rotting out bad. It's safe for now but probably won't pass a vehicle inspection (due in August) And likely not worth the money to have that part fixed. So after discussing it a bit, me and the missus decided to sell it within the next week or so. We didn't pay that much for it, and haven't had it for long, but have loved that vehicle since we first got it. I did some minor fixes and tinkering on it myself too. We do have a 2nd vehicle now, so we won't be stuck, but even though I feel I am doing the right thing, it still sucks to have to sell it. I don't have the money or resources to get that work done. But I am hoping that whoever owns it next can get that done and keep her on the road for a long while longer.
We do plan, hopefully in 3-6 months or so to get another Explorer. Probably a 2nd generation, but if its working excellent, looks good, and in our budget, we'll get it. I will be still lurking and commenting on the forum here.
