Welcome to the site, many types of SAS's have been done on here. I suggest you use the search to find out what type of suspension will work best for what you will use the truck for.

SAS doesnt work on 97's - it has a tendency to corrode the blinker fluid :p:

welcome

axle selection will also be fun.

I kinda did that backward, I found the axle then decided on the suspension, now if only someday I could get the tools and time to put it together.

dana 44's are the norm, I have seen one dana 30, but if you have to hunt an axle why not go big?

that being said you have the jeep wagoneer which is only an inch or so wider or the bronco, there may be a few others but those are the norm.

solid axle swap!!

allright first post did not turn many responses. so lets try this again., i have a 97 explorer sport. 2 door, 4.0 sohc.., i have just completed a soa (spring over axle)conversion in rear. and have done a tt (torsion twist) in the front., however its still not high enough., i need to know who has done this before., not for directions, but for the front axle, what vehicle did u get it out of., im wanting leafs in front. i was thinking cherokee, but not sure., drivers pumpkin will line up?? whos done this before? and what vehicle did u use for your axle?? please any info is needed!! i do not need directions! just axle type! thanks

adam,

cherokee will work, but it's still only a dana 30

at the wrecking yards I hunt for parts in, one axle is the same price as the next so I chose a dana 44... hell I could have went with dana 60 if I wanted to deal with that huge axle

ok., so ur saying go bigger., like a 44., which i undestand, but going with that combo would the transfer case o.e for the exp power that properly with out interference with the rear diff?

As long as the axle is drivers side diff and has the same gearing as the rear it will work. Do some research... for the types of questions you are asking you have a lot to learn before you should start on a project like this.
