Muskrat and I started working on the D44 swap in his 97 ranger after be blew up his passenger side wheel bearing for the 2nd time. He's gonna be running an EB D44 with Coils. We got all the TTB stuff out today and will hopefully will start putting the axle in tomorrow.
here are some pics of the truck with the front end stripped.

Sweet... keep us posted with pics....

Alright! another SAS to get me interested in doing the same!

Its alot easier to sas a 3rd gen ranger than a 2nd gen explorer. If and when I do a SAS on my truck I think im gonna go coils instead of leafs. after seeing a friend of mine do leafs on his 98 sport and I think the coils will actually be easier. I think there will actaully be less fabrication involved.

All I can say is thank god for friends (with garages and some misc tools that I don't have) with any luck, I can find the rest of the parts I need, and have a 2wd SAed Ranger, by next week:D

Here are some pics with the axle lined up. we just need to get some bushings for the radius arms before we go and start bolting it in.

Hmmm, might that be the garage at Camp Lizard that the Deranger is hiding in??

nope, that would be Doug's garage, we don't have all of lizards fancy tools:D

Very nice guys, looking forward to the progress pics in the near future. That axle looks wierd, like a brand new wierd or something:confused:

Lol yeah the axle is empty. Shaun has most of the parts (with the exception of gears) for the axle so we have to get that together as well. We're still waiting on the radius arm bushings and we should have them tomorrow.

I could see that it was empty, the metal just looks new that's all.

What size tires and gears is he going with? How much lift if he looking for?

Happy trails!!

Damn, next time i need work done on my truck i'm going to Jersey......so spas will Wash and Wax it too. :p
