Has anyone tried to swap in a D50 (a Ranger is light enough that it should hold up) or D60 from a newer superduty (I would also swap in the rear axle to match)? I was wondering cause my Ranger has 4 wheel abs and was thinking that I could possibly swap in the front and rear axles and still have working abs instead of having to disable the system. They are both variable reluctance sensors so I would imagine it could be possible, but the teeth on the tone rings would be way off, but I could probably live with that. Tax season is here and I am debating what to due cause my 35's have basically destroyed the spindles on the stock front axle and I'm tired of buying bearings and races, and new spindles are pretty expensive to just destroy again. Also I see how to cut down the high pinion D44 to fit the shorter axle(which is the EB stock axle), does anyone know of a shorter pass axle for the D60 to be able to buy an off the shelf part instead of custom axleshafts only. For reference I have '95 Ranger with skyjacker 8" front coils and extended radius arms, superlift 6" lift kit for the rest of it and an add a leaf on the rear with lift blocks, bushwacker cut-out flares (wider axle would almost look better cause of them), and a 3" body lift.
