I think the companies are technically merged, but there is some sort of FCC thing keeping them from combining the programming. I got an email from XM quite some time ago stating this, haven't heard anything about it since.

SIRIUS - their talk stations are great (and I'm not just talking about Howard), and the music is great too

Have it through my Kenwood head unit (SIR-KEN1 add-on)

I have XM because i bought the handheld unit with a car kit and a home kit for less than 100 bucks. it's also an MP3 player, so i use it constantly. and wherever i am, i just stick it in the corresponding cradle and it's hooked up.

I see that Sirius is coming out with backseat TV, is XM doing the same?

I have sirius right now. Mostly for Nascar and Bubba The Love Sponge. If Bubba doesn't re-sign with them, I am going to cancel.

i have the capability and am considering getting it, just dont feel like paying

I have XM for the last two months............love it......I'm hooked

i have xm and like it alot, although i think sirius has much better song selection.

number one pet peave, xm has commercials!!! bahhhh!!!

I don't have either because I don't like the way compressed audio sounds. I don't have an MP3 player for the same reason. Though now that storage capacities are getting large enough to be useful with uncompressed audio, I'm considering one. My Alpine system will control an iPod and I've had a connection cable for one run to the center console. Admittedly, sat. radio might not be so bad in a car, given the other limitations already inherent in car audio.

as for compression in sat radio, if you have a decent receiver you'll be fine. i'm a very discerning audiophile and my now 4 year old alpine h/u and tuner still sound amazing. part of this is probably due to the fact that xm spent loads more money than sirius in developing their own proprietary compression algorithms.

Sirius. NASCAR.

Short and sweet. :)
When NASCAR was on the X, I had it. When they moved, so did I.

XM, Opie & Anthony the main reason I have XM. sounds real good that they will merge soon so I don't think it matter much soon

Since the Sirius came with 6 months free, of course I listen. Even though it is compressed, the signal quality is leaps and bounds over FM, and there is MUCH more from which to choose (Hair Nation and Hard Attack FTW!). That said, I ordered the Sirius add-on for my new Kenwood head unit.

Gas prices, other factors...

I am amazed that more do not have sat radio.

It seems like the same time pay radio started taking off, gas prices did too... and then iPods hit the automotive scene... I would say that most talk radio is still free on AM and with iPod you choose your own music and can do podcasts (80gb worth of music?) Radio was on it's way out - if it weren't for El Rushbo, Rush, "Radio, what was that like?" our grandkids would ask. And then there are those that don't feel paying for radio serves any purpose unless what you specifically want is there... none for me.

Well no more XM for me, killed the subscription last week. Actually the whole family did, 3 cars total. I have it through my mom's account just because its cheaper, well they pissed her off about the bill and she said cancel it then. So now were all slowly moving over to Sirius.

Radio comes in next week!!

I have Sirius and I must say, it's great! I have 4 radios on my account (not all mine) so I'm only paying like $8 a month (if that).

:)

I love my Sirius, radio not the stock. I just made a 1400 mile road trip and listened to it all the way.
