Who has Satellite Radio?

How do you guys decide on XM or Sirrus? I can go either way since I'm going to be adding to the factory HU...

I went XM because I have a Pioneer system and I heard the Sirrus was and is in trouble (money wise).

I've heard that both are in trouble, XM is better off then Sirrus but both are having trouble and if Sirrus goes bankrupt XM can't just pick up all their users because the tech is different between them.

But XM was smart and got all the OEM business from GM. At least in my town 50%+ of the GM cars on the lots have XM in them. And I keep talking to more and more people who have it in their cars.

I heard (not verified) that XM has some commericals and Sirrus does not. Can anyone verify?

I've seen about 3 XM commericals for every 1 Sirrus has.

GM is pushing XM because they own a big chunk of the company.

I've had XM for almost a year. Can't imagine ever being without it. Most channels have no ads(the ones that do only play one or two an hour), and there are no dopey DJ's. Nothing but music on the music channels.

Sometimes it's hard to choose what to listen to.

I have a Pioneer HU and receiver. The sound is cleaner than CD.

Spend the money if you can. You WILL NOT regret it.

It's ALWAYS hard to decide. Hmm will it be rock, comedy, old time radio shows, CNET radio... etc...

I find myself pleased with sitting in traffic now! I know that;s just wrong, but it gives me more time to listen to more programming!

The Trucker's channel is pretty damn funny some times. The overall quality it CD or better. Sometimes KISS and Twenty on Twenty real loud there's some distortion. IE, (I only listened to this song be of the good mix of voice and music) beautiful, by Christina is fine on MTV but on Twenty on Twenty the background has some distortion on her solos.


P.S. Have you guys heard the new KidRock song, that boy can really sing.

I just got XM in my Sport and will never go back to AM/FM radio. I've been wanting it for a while but just got the $$ scraped up to do it. I first saw the Pioneer add-on unit at my local Wallyworld for $199+tax not including antenna or install. Went to the nearest Circuit City and they had the same setup for $169+tax. (So much for Wallyworlds low prices, DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!) Made an appointment to have it installed and brought it in. As luck would have it, the Pioneer unit was out of stock. So they instead installed the Alpine unit. The nice thing was the Alpine was listed for $249 and they only charged me the Pioneer price! Whoo...Anyway, I told the install man that if he can't make it look like Ford installed it to forget it. He said no problem. After about 1 1/2 hrs he was finished and it looks great!! Not one exposed wire anywhere. Custom install in my console between the seats looks factory. Needless to say, I'm very impressed with XM Radio!! If a person can't find something they like on it, they don't need to be driving....IMHO...best purchase I've made yet for my Sport...so far...

we got a demo display at my job. if you hate FM, this is for u! its great how they have a channel for a genre of music. Sirius's Left of Center is good for finding those underground bands. The comedy station is great to help pass those long days!

I just installed my XM around feb 3rd and took some pics, as soon as I get them developed and scanned I will try and put them on here. I put mine in place of the old radio unit.

I also just got an XM SKYFi unit and installing it using the XM rf modulator but I can not find the tuner in the Explorer. I have the stock JBL fancy sound system w/sub. I did go to the jack panel and found a RF cable and inserted the modulator in series with it and it does not work very well at all. I am suspecting this RF cable may be for the security system? If it is then where is the tuner for the sound system?
