Wondering how many of you Ecoboost owners use seafoam in your oil prior to an oil/filter change? I've read a few threads but they were somewhat old so I figured I'd create a new one. Let me know what you think.

Your Owner's Manual states the following in a few places;
Do not use supplemental engine oil
additives because they are unnecessary
and could lead to engine damage that may
not be covered by your vehicle warranty.

And this;
Additives and Chemicals
This owner's manual and the Ford
Workshop Manual list the recommended
additives and chemicals for your vehicle.
We do not recommend using chemicals or
additives not approved by us as part of
your vehicle’s normal maintenance. Please
consult your warranty information.

Thanks Pete, wasn't sure if that statement in the manual was legit. After reading the followng on the PTU maint:

"Axle and PTU maintenance: The Power Transfer Unit (PTU) and rear axle (four wheel drive only) in your vehicle does not require any normal scheduled maintenance. Vehicles are electronically monitored and notify the driver required service by displaying a message in the information display. The PTU lubricant will be more likely to require a change if the vehicle has experienced extended periods of extreme/severe duty cycle driving."

I feel like I need to question everything before believing it. Is anyone familiar with the specific ingredient(s) Ford wants you to keep out of your engine?
