What to do with this fold handle? I bend it back and this thing bends after couple of times I jump into my vehicle.
Eventually it's gonna break.
What can I do?
I bent mine back. I always enter and exit the vehicle using the running board to make sure my @$$ goes in first and does not touch the handle. This has worked for me for about 5 years or so.
I use black webbing material from an old backpack and make a
Loop. I secure it to the metal hinge with a piece of baling wire … now I can enter and exit the seat without worrying about catching the metal handle

This is brilliant! I have been trying to figure out how to fabricate a new arms for my '99 to replace the broken ones that would also be strong enough to tolerate my butt sliding over them. I had a design, but fabricating it with the tools at my disposal was going to be an annoying amount of effort. Some webbing straps is a much simpler design!

Dammit! Mine broke, I made a replacement lever out of plate aluminum, but hadn't gotten around to installing it. Your idea is so much better that I'm just going to throw that away and use a strap.

It’s pretty simple I sewed the material into a loop with needle and thread (or you maybe able to already find a loop in the fabric maybe even one with a grommet on one end)
And then I poked a hole in it where the heavy stitching is and ran bailing wire through it, a couple of wraps through the first rivet hole
That is all it takes
I was surprised how well it works and there it has been for many years now
