Section525's V2.0 - '96 V8 AWD

Well, I picked up another project today. This one is very very similar to my other '96. V8, AWD, Leather, etc. Just no moon roof.

Got her for $2k. Looks like all it really needs is the power steering gone through (pump is leaking a little) and the passenger side exhaust manifold is leaking (I have TMH ready to go on). Plugs and wires will be done this week (still has the factory wires on it - probably plugs too). It also needs a good cleaning. The carpet will come out and go to the carwash, etc.

So, it'll stay rather stock (I hope ). I'll probably throw some 30" BFG ATs on it this week too. Stay tuned!

Mom will be driving the tow rig mainly for the next year and I'll drive this thing to work. Then when Mom graduates next year she'll buy whatever she wants and I'll throw this drivetrain into an Early Bronco! If she lets me.

You asked to early, the best chance you have is asking in the middle of installation when he is frustrated with the pain in the butt that is installing torque monster headers. Then after they're on your chances drop to zero.zero since he'll never want to give them up.

Thats very clean for a 96. How many miles?

Drove it the 45 miles to work today. A couple impressions:

This thing needs a deep carpet cleaning. It smells like a veterinary hospital. Second, it needs some power! It's been a long time since I've driven a stock 5.0L. So the sooner I can get some power-adders the better.

But I do like how smooth it goes down the road. 29s are a lot better than 37" bias.

Got the interior totally stripped down. Found a lot of junk. This was a girl-owned car and I found proof of that.

Found some moisture in the rear cargo area. Think the driver's side back side window is leaking.. much like my other '96. So when I get back into town on Thursday night I might tackle the carpet and window problem.

I'm going to try my hardest to keep it mostly stock. But I've been thinking about doing that coil over conversion but lowering it an inch or two. But then I'd have to buy 18s for it though. It would probably be a vicious cycle after that.

I think 18's are a little to much, 17's are perfect. Lower it a couple of inches, throw some 275-65-17's on it convert to 2wd with sport trac knuckles and have some fun.
