shackles&add-a-leaf?

where do i get the shackles and leafs? i searched web site and i cant find anything! any help would be greatly appreciated!

try 4-wheel wholesalers. they've lately raised their prices a little on certain things but the shackles should be about $45 or 50 and the add a leafs are about $27(pro comp). the number is 1800-421-1050.

yep, it's "www.4wheelparts.com". good luck. their prices are usually always cheaper over the phone than on the website. just call and hassle w/ them a little and they'll nock off 10-20%(usually).

98 Add-a-Leaf

New user here so bare with me. I just wanted to give an input on the add a leaf questions. For the 98 ~ 00 the new part number is EXP-13135 from Explorer Pro Comp. They are a bit (lot) more expensive $100 per set. There are two leafs per side. Received mine today. Once the snow and ice melt I'll install them and torsion twist the front to level it out.
Otherwise the EXP-13120 @ $27 per set are one leaf per side and will not provide as much lift for the later models. If I remember correctly it is because the 98 ~ 00 leafs are under the axle.

and how much more lift will you get?

hoe come you didnt just get the shackles and the single leaf?

Leaf Shackle questions

There is probably some other reason like, global warming or increasing fuel costs or something. The leaf springs have been under the axle since 1991. Not pickin' i know you're a new guy. Just spreadin' the info.

i made my own shackles and they are welded al around not just on 2 sides , doesn't really matter, would work fine with no center support, anyway all i did was get 4 pieces of 2" wide 3/8 thick plate, and drill the holes together in a drill perss. esay peasy. don't remember the hole size or the distance between holes though.

Sorry for the confusion. They (EXP-13135) are $100 per set.
Approximate 1.75" ~ 2" lift.
These were reccomended by Explorer Pro Comp for the 98+. They are new but can be found at some 4x4 sites. I had to have them ordered from OK Auto 4WD & Tire. 908-454-6973. One week later they arrived at my house.
Don't know much about shackles. (Don't know much about History)

I forgot to mention I do some towing and often have a heavy load in the Explorer. I don't really do any extreem off roading so I thought the leafs would be the way for me. Thanks for the welcome.

ok now im gonna need you guys to hold my hand on this one.
i checked out the 4wheelparts site and i cant find the darn shackles! i have found the leafs at summit but still need the shackles!!! heeeelllpppp meeee!! i promise i wont ask anymore questions about this subject =)

well like they said, for one you're better off calling and getting a better price over the phone, and two if you don't see it you can ask for it over the phone , and last of all desert rat also sells the shackles. they are like http://www.desertrat.com or something

I don't think desert rat has the shackles listed either. I got mine from 4wheelparts, but I went to the store here in town to get mine. You can get them anywhere that sells warrior products....the number is WAR153 for the grey ones...I can't think of the number for the golden ones off hand.

i just called desert rat and they had teh shackles (38$)
well before shipping i forget what the total was.. woo hoo and i order my add a leaf to!!! now soon i can post some pics up!!
