Hello Friends,

I'm a new member, and I'm seeking your opinions. Here goes;
I drive a 2001 Ford Explorer XLS. Live in Dallas Texas, last night temp was low 32 degrees. Parked outside, in front of my bestfriend's house (curb side). This morning, attempting to open driver's door, glancing in the back seat, and noticed small squares of glass on the floor. Immediately recognizing the glass from a wreck I had a few years ago. My eyes then made their way to the front passenger window, which was shattered in a million pieces. I guess my question is, could the weather be a factor in shattering the window, or perhaps, my bestfriend's ex, whacked it with a baseball bat.

Seeing that here in Canada its normally much colder then that for the majority of the year, I would expect that the weather had nothing to do with it.

That or I have been lucky for the 20 some years I have had vehicles:confused:

I vote for baseball bat!

I second that. It was 10 degrees here over the weekend and nothing happened to mine... despite the fact that my doors were frozen shut and I had to wedge my fingers in the crack to pry them open.

I wouldn't totally rule it out though... couple weeks ago, when it was still like 50 degrees, my parents' truck windshield formed about a 3 foot crack one morning. I still feel better about the baseball bat theory... odd that a side window would just shatter without any help. Usually when a window breaks from temperature, its because it was really cold and someone turned the heat on all at once or jarred it significantly.
