As much as I dislike them. I want to do a 1 inch body lift to create some extra room for my v8 swap.

But all I can find are 2 and 3 inch lifts.

Can I cut down a 2" lift to one? Or will there be problems?

Do it. Then just get the longer bolts. You'll probably have enough adjustments with everything else to make it work (bumpers, steering, radiator).

You can order the 1" pucks from 4wheelparts. All you will need is the 1" longer bolts which can be bought from your local hardware store.

Oh sweet.

I know it sounds crazy, but I used hockey pucks once for a 1" BL. Drill the centerout(your bolt size) and install just like a regular BL. I never had any problems with them, I just went with a 2" kit later. I use them for the front two mounts to replace all the rusted together stuff

Its the smaller block under the taller block.

i heard hockey pucks squeek because they are rubber

that's all I'll need?

What are all the brackets and stuff that comes with a body lift for?

to raise your bumpers up so you dont have a huge gap between your bumper and the body. but like someone said earlier in the post.. with a 1" lift you should have enough adjustment in the bolt holes for the bumpers to move them up so the gap isnt as noticeable. is 1" gonna be enough to make the v8 swap easier?

From what I've read in his thread, he has enough room, but I think he's looking for more room, especially with the whole oil filter / steering box locations. Plus it'll give him more room above the engine for bigger intake or something.

It's technically not necisary but it will give me some extra fudge room and some space for the 1" intake spacer.

And to get to the trans bolts. The 4r70w has a biggen bellhousing.

I think I will go with the homemade/hockeypuck idea.

And some new body bushings.
