I have a 94 explorer sport with the superlift 5.5 suspension lift and 33's and was thinking about adding a 3 inch body lift to get some extra clearance but have heard of people have problems with the way it rides. Need advice or suggestions on alternatives.

if anything 2 inch is the way to go.

what do you plan on running 38s? a body lift doesent give clearence anyway. just lets you use bigger tires.

if you want 35s you can trip it up and they will fit...i dont like body lifts...i like it to all be suspension

i am trying to keep the tires from rubbing on tight corners and angles and don't want to have to cut out the fenders is all. i will probably stick with the 33's maybe just go wider.

If you still have your sway bars, the tires are probably rubbing on those. Do you know where it's actually rubbing? Getting wider tires won't fix that either. It will actually get worse.

i do have a sway bar in the front because its my daily driver but i am not sure if its rubbing there or on the corner by the door. i removed that one trim piece but on hard corners or tight ones it still rubs

It could be rubbing on both. What size wheels and backspacing do you have? I noticed you have a 94, do you still have the "tupperware" on it?

i'm running a 33x12.5x15 mounted on 15x8 with a 3 3/4 backspace and i think aroubnd a negative 22mm offset. i still have most of the tuberware on the bottom i just removed the one corner piece closest to the tire. should i get wheel spacers and push them out farther?

Wow, I'm surprised you're rubbing with that setup. The farther you push them out, the more it will rub when you turn. I'm almost positive that you're rubbing on the sway bar, but can't really help if you'r not sure if it's rubbing on the back of the fender or not. Figure that out and then we'll be able to help you more. You'll be able to make it work without going higher, unless you want to go higher. :dunno:

yeah i will have to find exactly where its rubbing. Thanks for all the advice. Checked out your rig and its awesome. i like that you have the sas on your rig. do you still drive it on the street?
