I am wondering if I should remove the class II+ trailer hitch from my 95 Ex offroader. I have never used it. Except to mount my tow hooks to. I don't ever intend on towing with it, maybe after major upgrades I have planned. ( SAS, SOA, Tranny etc)

The hitch has dragged a few times wheeling. But it also has protected the rear.

Thoughts Ideas.

I guess I would say axe it. That what I am getting ready to do myself after I acquire my new(used) rear bumper since it already has a hitch built into it.

if you dont use it you should, then send it to me!:D

If you take it off, what would be your tow point for the rear?

I left mine on for the exact reasons you have "used" yours for. It protected the rear bumper and was also the rear tow point. My rear bumper would have been toast quite a few times had I not had the hitch there.

My bumper would be sitting on a trail in Moab if I did not have my hidden hitch.. I would definately leave it on.

leavve it on unless you are making a heavy duty offroad bumper with recoverypoints.

take it off and sell it too me

Well It has protected the rear. I may just leave it for a little extra protection. If I did pull it off I would have to find another spot for me rear tow hooks( there bolted to the side plates of the hitch.)

Exactly-

I am actually going to build a roller for my hitch before my next rock trip.
